Slack alerts

Add the Peersheep app to Slack and pick the channel alerts go to.

Peersheep posts alerts to one Slack channel of your choice. A dedicated channel like #competitors works well.

Connect Slack

In Peersheep, open Settings → Integrations and click Add to Slack.

Slack asks which channel Peersheep should post to. Pick one and click Allow.

You're back in Peersheep with Slack connected. Click Send test to check a message arrives.

To post to a different channel later, click Change next to the channel and pick another one. Disconnect stops alerts going to Slack; you can add it again any time.

Choose what gets posted

Under Send, pick which alerts go to Slack:

  • High signal only
  • Medium and high
  • Every change

Alerts are posted as soon as they're analysed. If you've turned on the daily digest, medium and low signal changes wait for the digest instead, and the digest is posted to the same channel.

What a Slack alert looks like

Each message includes:

  • The competitor and page type as a heading, for example Acme AI — pricing
  • The signal level and page type
  • The summary of what changed
  • What changed on the page: an excerpt of the changed lines
  • Why the change got its score
  • View full alert and Open page buttons

If Slack says "Needs attention"

Peersheep marks Slack Needs attention when a message is rejected, usually because the channel was deleted or the app was removed from your workspace. Click Change to reconnect it to a channel. The status clears on the next alert that goes through.

Set up Slack before the app existed, with a pasted webhook URL? It keeps working, and it shows as Pasted webhook (legacy) under Settings → Notifications. Adding the Slack app turns the pasted webhook off so alerts aren't posted twice.
